What are bricks made of? Pavers are made from a "no-slump" concrete mix utilizing fade resistant pigments. They are compacted under extreme pressure and high-frequency vibration. How reliable are the bricks? Pavers have a compressive strength withstanding over 8,000 PSI. The maximum water absorption equals 5% of the brick's volume. While all bricks are designed for specific applications, they fair well under normal conditions and carry the manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty. Will the weeds grow between the pavers? Dirt allowed to accumulate between the bricks can support weeds, but none will originate from under or behind properly installed pavers. Hosing the dirt off periodically significantly reduces a chance of growth while a common weed killer can be used to eliminate any sprouts. Will plants be affected by the installation? Usually we need a belt of six inches deep and at least one foot wide around the installation. However, we are equipped to reposition plants and have a sister company, Lorelei Group, that can address all your landscaping needs. Will my gutters be a problem? We pay close attention to water drainage and have the means to reroute it over or under the installation. This is done to prevent the jointing sand from getting washed out. How messey will the installation get? It is nearly impossible to answer this question without knowing the site and what specific work needs to be done. However, we always try to restore the original cleanness before we leave. How should I care for the bricks? Occasional hosing off will keep the sprouts at bay. Our sister company, PaverCare, can best address these types of questions. How do I choose the bricks and design? We recommend that you see the actual installations in your neighborhood. It is best to base your judgement of color, hue, and texture on the looks of the actual brick sample we have available at our office. Don't hesitate to ask us about concepts that you have not yet implemented as we can point you to an appropriate site or give you relevant information. Can I perform the installation myself? Yes. However, you may miss on our experience, not have all the necessary tools, and need truly Herculean strength. What manufacturer supplies the pavers? UniLocak and PaveLoc are the two suppliers we use. However, we can work with any bricks or natural stone of your choosing. Can I reuse my old bricks? Yes. We can incorporate your old bricks in most cases. Are we insured? Yes. We are fully insured.
